Nearly every successful piece of sales writing is built around a special offer. The most effective special offers are those that have built-in time limits.
The reasoning is simple. Setting a time limit on your offer motivates prospects to act sooner, rather than later.
Example:
Order by June 1, 2014, and receive a 20% discount off our standard price. If within 30 days you’re not completely satisfied, we’ll give you a full 100% no-questions-asked refund.
A limited-time offer combined with a full money-back guarantee. Nice. However, to add even greater value to your offer it’s always a good idea to throw in some free bonuses. And the best way to promote them is in a P.S. line.
Example:
Order by June 1, 2014, and receive a 20% discount off our standard price. If within 30 days you’re not completely satisfied, we’ll give you a full 100% no-questions-asked refund.
P.S. Plus, we’ll also send you a free e-book about how to increase your leads by 15% or more!
All your sales letters and web site landing pages should include a P.S. line. Even if you don’t have a special bonus to give away, a P.S. line is the ideal place to reiterate your offer or key selling point.
Research shows that people’s eyes gravitate to P.S. lines. Why? Because everyone knows there’s always something juicy in the P.S. line. So take advantage of this!
My theory is that it goes back to the letters and notes we wrote to each other as kids.
P.S. Don’t tell Jimmy that Shelly has a big crush on him!
People know there’s always something juicy in the P.S. line. It’s almost a universal law. So leverage this and use them in all your key sales and lead-generation marketing pieces.
If you got a knowledge boost from this post I encourage you to share it with your crowd!
