Marketing Copy’s Most Important Real Estate

Your promotional success could hinge on this one thing!

When I write book marketing copy for authors and coaches I get asked a lot of really intelligent questions about message development.

If there’s one question I get asked more than any other, it’s this:

“Casey, if there is just one thing I should really focus on to improve my book marketing copy and online program promotional campaigns, what is it?”

I never hesitate with my answer.

I tell them to focus on the most important piece of real estate in their book and online program marketing campaign.

I also tell them to keep it simple and to not overthink it.

I add that if they follow this advice they can maximize this valuable real estate in just a matter of minutes.

Lastly, I tell them this is the most important thing they can do to grab and engage their audience, which can lead to more book sales.

Headlines Are King. Never Waste the Space.

I encourage you to watch this week’s video where I detail this topic more thoroughly. Here is a quick rundown of what I cover.

So, what is the most valuable real estate in your book marketing campaign?

Hands down, it’s your headlines. So you never want to waste this space.

What’s the key to maximizing the effectiveness of your headlines?

More often than not, the key is to keep your headlines simple.

Remember, the goal of your headline is to grab the attention of readers and motivate them to want to learn more about your book.

It isn’t any more complicated than this.

And, you don’t have to be crafty, cutesy, or clever to accomplish this goal. In fact, clear benefit-driven headlines often work best.

Here are just a few examples of proven, but simple headline types from which you can draw.

None of these headline examples are catchy, clever, or crafty. But they are all attention-getters and they are relatively easy to create.

So, when it comes to optimizing the most valuable real estate in your marketing copy, simple and straightforward headlines are often your best choice.

Once again, this week’s video covers this important topic in greater depth, so I encourage you to check it out.

Until next week, take action and make things happen!
